What type of vessel am I chartering from Solar Sailing VI?
Speculation is the name of our sailing catamaran. It is a 44’ leopard with 4 staterooms and 4 private heads. It has an open galley and full service kitchen. There are 3 table sitting areas: one in the galley, one in the stern and one in the bow with front door access via the galley.
When is the best time to go?

The VI’s have beautiful weather all year round, December-June is high season. July-November is off season.

How do I plan an itinerary?
We offer suggested itineraries that can be tailored to best fit with your charter time frame and give you the best experience of the islands.
Can I bring my own food?
Yes! But your charter does include 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 dinners. Additional provisions (alcohol, meals on shore, etc.) are not included.
Do you travel to the British Virgin Island’s (BVI’s)?
If you desire to travel to the BVI’s please contact us before booking.
What additional costs can I expect?
You should take into account arrival and departure transportation, additional provisions, tip for the crew is appreciated, meals ashore, additional docking (if requested by guest), and water activity rentals.
What are the methods of payment?

How do I get to my boat?

There are multiple airport taxis/shuttles that can bring you to Crown Point Marine, which is a short distance from the airport.

Do I have to tip the captain/crew, and if so what's the normal amount?

Gratuity is purely voluntary; If you had an exceptional experience it's customary to tip 8%-12% of the total charter amount before you leave the boat on the last day. The captain can accept venmo, zelle, and/or cash.

What happens in the case of an emergency?

The captain and crew will immediately call the emergency services and follow the emergency protocols. Our crew is trained in First Aid procedures.

Is there a minimum charter duration?

The standard charter goes from Sunday- Saturday.

Can I take pets on board?

Sorry, no pets.

What shall I pack?
  • Bathing suits/SPF shirts
  • Cover up/shorts

  • Water shoes/flip flops
  • A good hat
  • Non-aerosol reef-safe sunscreen 
  • Insects are seldom a problem, but it’s a good idea to bring repellent
  • Phone/chargers/camera
  • Music/playlists so we can dance!
What medical care will I need?
Especially before traveling to tropical areas, ask your doctor if there are necessary vaccinations and precautions.
What is the cancellation policy?

Client Cancellation: Once the charter is reserved and the deposit has been received, it is considered non-refundable under the following terms.

Cancellation more than ninety (90) days before the charter: A full refund will be given without penalty

Cancellation ninety (90) to sixty-one (61) days prior to charter: A $300 administration fee will be deducted from the deposit monies. All remaining funds will be held on account and applied to a new charter within twenty-four (24) months

Cancellation sixty (60) to thirty-one (31) days prior to charter: A $300 administration fee will be deducted from the deposit monies. There will be a penalty of 50% of the total charter fee, and a 50% refund to the original form of payment OR all funds paid (minus administration fee) can be held on account and applied to a new charter within twenty-four (24) months

Cancellation notice within thirty (30) days prior to charter: A $300 administration fee will be deducted from the deposit monies. The full charter fee is forfeited. As a courtesy, 50% of the total charter fee can be held on account and applied to a new charter within twenty-four (24) months
